The record

The parcels were organised.
The searching wasn’t.

Every parcel got a large handwritten number, written on the parcel and used to store it in order. That part worked. The books were sorted by courier and date — which is exactly the information the customer at the counter usually didn’t have.

At the counter

  • Which courier?
  • Which date?
  • What name?
  • Are you sure it arrived?
  • Ask the name. Find the number.

Before, the answers decided which book to open and which days to read through. A wrong courier guess, or a notification date that wasn’t the shop’s arrival date, and the search started again.

Now there is one question. Staff search the surname and ParcelBook returns the record, the internal parcel number, the courier and the status.

Then they walk to the shelf and pick up the number — exactly as they always did.

How it works

Surname in. Number out.

ParcelBook is one shared live register across every courier. It improves search, shared staff information, retrieval speed, collection status and handover between shifts. The storage system stays as it is.

  • FindType a surname. The record and its internal number come back.
  • CollectHand it over and mark it collected.
